I was talking with a cis female friend recently, and felt that in the *simplest* terms, our solidarity could be boiled down to a single sentiment:

"It shouldn't be this fucking hard to be a woman."

Our struggles may be different in many ways, but it's the same in so many others.

Our rights are stripped away, we are told what we can and can't be, our autonomy is limited by those who clad themselves in claims of being champions of individual liberty and small government.

We are all oppressed because we are not part of a self appointed ruling class of small minded, frightened, power hungry men who will sooner sacrifice us than admit we are human beings worthy of dignity and respect.

They drive wedges between us to prevent us from fighting together, to make us feel small, powerless, and incapable of enacting change.

It's time to prove them wrong.

Hooboy, just had a few non-fun days. One of the BTRFS RAID drives that stores the data for this instance died, and then I made the mistake of upgrading Ubuntu, which apparently temporarily hosed the #PostgreSQL database for #Akkoma for no good reason, and then fixed it again after a few reboots.

Side note: does anyone know how the hell someone migrates FROM the weird RUM indices? I'd like for the database backend to be less exotic.

The saddest things of all in IT is the early onset brain rot that makes you look back to the past as a better age, and any new tech as something worse that should be avoided in favour of Ye Olde Solutions.

Yes, computers suck, but guess what: they always sucked, and there is no prelapsarian golden age to which you can return to.
